i would fill it with clouds
i would fill it with clouds

i search eyes of strangers
with one goal in mind
she proves harder to catch
than butterflies at night
i await the sight of her pulse
thrusting itself in my direction
filled with hope of reciprocation
roman angled hair
drapes her face
strangely demanding my attention
from the sky we could share
the sight of rubies
and emeralds
and sapphires
strewn about in the darkness
present swells with emptiness
of what future has yet revealed
i want to use the big dipper
to scoop her into my life
don’t worry though
i would fill it with clouds first
to make it soft inside
and if she asked me
let her keep it
to put on the ceiling above her bed
